Better Birdwatching in the East, DVD Field
Guide
by Joseph A. LaFleurThis 3-hour,
2-disc set includes 3 hours of video and audio. Beginning and
advanced birdwatchers alike will learn from the excellent
photography and sound. Each species is named at the beginning
of the segment, and shown vocalizing. Then the video displays
footage of the bird's typical habitat, and finally the bird is shown
in its typical behavior. Sophisticated menus allow you to
locate quickly species of interest.
This DVD provides video and audio of birds but is
not meant to replace your field guide, so you may want to keep your
favorite field guide handy as a reference. A printed list of
species is included for each disc. Please note that most but
not all species include sounds. Species without sounds are
mostly quieter birds, like cormorants and pelicans. You cam
also take this resource into the field with palm-sized DVD players!
